4 Simple Tips That Will Help You Succeed at a Job Interview

4 Simple Tips That Will Help You Succeed at a Job Interview by James Malervy

1) Have a Personal Branding Statement

The first question most employers will ask you during an interview is “Tell me about yourself.” The way you answer this question will set the mood for the rest of the interview. That is why you develop a personal branding statement. Explain where you are from, your passions, what strengths you as a person bring to this position and what benefits your previous employer(s) have gained because of your employment. The Personal Branding Statement should be about one minute long.

Personal Branding Statement Example:

I am a seasoned marketing expert in property retail management, strong in driving traffic to mall retail centers through effective media buying and event planning. I grew up in Philadelphia and I have a passion for continuous learning.

You should do this for three reasons:

1. It demonstrates that you are comfortable with yourself. This places both you and the interviewer at ease.

2. It will help you begin to control the interview.

3. A well delivered Personal Branding Statement will increase the interviewer’s interest in to you.

Be careful not to show off simply tell a story about yourself.

2) Keep a Positive Attitude

“I can get this job!”

The key to a great interview is keeping a positive attitude. The interview is about you. This is a major advantage for you. You are the one that shows the interviewer what is great about you. Keep in mind, your resume got you the interview, it’s the interview that will get you hired.

Be prepared for tricky questions and unexpected happenings, such as setbacks. Don’t let these affect your positive attitude.

3) Dress for Success

There is a saying that clothes make the man (or woman) and it is certainly true. You only get one chance make a first impression, and if you want to compete with the rest of you need to dress to impress.

4) Follow Up with a Thank You Letter

After you conduct your successful interview,it is important to follow it up with a thank you note. This is the time acknowledge the interviewer’s time and to remind him or her why you are the best person for the position. You are only remembered if you show the interviewer that you can create value for the company. You should try to write a thank you as soon as the interview is over. You can personally write it and mail a note to the interviewer or email them.

Acne Solution Tips For Clearer Skin by Alexis Kelvingtons

There are millions, young and the old who suffer from acne. If your doctor has advised you on some topical or any other oral treatment and still if you see that this is not working then you need to take special effort in trying to research on other ways to cure these breakouts.

Topical retinoid say for example like Retin A, Differin and Tazorac, are extremely helpful for mild as well as severe acne when they are applied at the growing stage along with other hormonal antibiotics, or benzoyl peroxide. When the antibiotics are discontinued then you can notice the skin being very clear with retinoid.

Consider laser acne treatment options:

Another way by which you can treat acne is with laser light. A minimum of two to four treatments are necessary to kill this bacteria and keep skin clear for the next five months to two years.

Solution to acne treatment is pretty easy. There are plenty of acne treatment lotions that are available over the counter that are not strong enough to treat the stubborn acne. You may first try using a product which contains 10 benzoyl peroxide along with another product that contain 2 percent salicylic acid. A daily routine has to be faithfully maintained and if your skin does not show any significant improvement then you should see a dermatologist immediately.

Lot of people suffering from acne has tried plenty of products that hardly give any improvement in solving this problem of acne. It is very frustrating at times as dealing with acne is a menace. But you may not lose hope and continue trying various products till the time a particular product seems to work on your acne. You can completely get rid of acne although it may take some months or years.

It is important to understand why all or some of the acne products sold in the market do not work on you while it is working on someone else. In this case it is very important to know if getting rid of acne is a prime goal of yours. A lot of products are designed in a way that can simply attack the existing pimples instead of focusing on the prevention and really attacking the causes of acne this is a big problem!. They don’t pay attention to the root cause of the problem but merely try to remove one pimple at a time after their appearance on the skin. They cannot in any case stop the prevention of the acne from coming.

It ends up in wasting lot of money to treat this problem. It hardly makes any difference because the new pimples keep arising. What is the use of treating a particular pimple when new pimples keep arising elsewhere on your skin? It will end up you spending lots of money with no result. So the main acne solution will lie on you trying to understand the problem and give treatment to the source. There are specific bacteria that causes acne, irritation of the skin, skin pores that are blocked and skin glands that are overactive.

Investors lap up Apple's 47 percent profit jump

SEATTLE -

Wall Street knew Apple Inc.'s results for the most recent quarter would blow past the company's guidance, but investors clearly weren't prepared for the 47 percent jump in profit that Apple delivered.

Shares skyrocketed to an all-time high in after-hours trading Monday evening on news that Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple sold more iPhone and Mac computers than ever.

Apple's financial report "reinforces my view that Apple is hands down the best technology company on the planet," said Broadpoint AmTech analyst Brian Marshall in an interview.

Apple unveiled a faster iPhone in June and cut the price of the previous generation of the phone to $99. Those moves boosted iPhone sales from July through September to 7.4 million devices, half a million more than in the same period of 2008, despite shortages of the newest iPhones that persisted through the quarter.

Apple weathered the economic meltdown better than other computer companies, giving it a running start when PC sales grew in the quarter. Apple had also updated its Mac operating system and refreshed its MacBook Pro line. Apple sold 3.1 million Macs, a 19 percent rise from the same period a year ago.

As Apple's iPhone, which has iPod features built in, has grown in popularity, Apple's regular iPod music player business has suffered. The company sold 10.2 million iPods in the quarter, 8 percent fewer than last year, even though Apple unveiled a new iPod Nano with a video camera in September.

But even with the number of iPods dropping, iPod revenue rose in the quarter. That means people are trading up, Marshall said — buying a Nano to replace a Shuffle, or an iPod Touch to replace a Nano. Revenue for the iPod Touch, which is like an iPhone without the phone, doubled from a year ago, Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer said.

Apple is rumored to be working on a tablet-style computer that's a cross between a laptop and an iPhone or iPod Touch, but the company is notoriously secretive about new products. On a conference call, Apple executives boasted vaguely about the company's "amazing" future offerings and dropped one tantalizing indication something new might be coming in time for holiday shopping.

Apple typically spends more on air freight in the current quarter in order to make sure stores are stocked with iPods and other gadgets for the holidays, but this year, the increase is more than usual.

"I'm sorry I can't be specific on the product, but it's, it's, it's an abnormal sequential increase," Apple's chief operating officer, Tim Cook, said in response to a question from an analyst.

Apple said it earned $1.7 billion, or $1.82 per share, in its fiscal fourth quarter, which ended Sept. 26. Revenue jumped 25 percent to $9.9 billion.

For all of fiscal 2009, Apple said its profit rose 18 percent to $5.7 billion, or $5.36 per share. Revenue climbed 13 percent to $36.5 billion.

For the current quarter, Apple said it expects to earn $1.70 to $1.78 per share, well below the $1.91 that analysts are expecting, though the company traditionally gives extremely conservative guidance. Apple predicted revenue of $11.3 billion to $11.6 billion, while analysts are looking for $11.4 billion, according to a Thomson Reuters poll.

Wall Street shrugged off the profit guidance and sent the company's shares up $12.54, or 6.6 percent, to $202.40 in extended trading. At one point in the after-hours trading the stock climbed past $203. Adjusted for splits, Apple's highest price had been $202.96, reached Dec. 27, 2007.

Investors also are anticipating even more growth for the iPhone. Apple is set to officially begin selling iPhones in China on Oct. 30 and has plans to launch in South Korea during this quarter as well.

But Apple could hit snags in those countries in the first few months. The company struggled to supply enough of the newest iPhone 3GS to store shelves around the world over the summer. Cook said most of the shortages had eased, but he added that he wishes more iPhones were ready for the China launch.

S Waziristan IDPs tally can reach 270,000

UNITED NATIONS: United Nations agencies and their partners are providing assistance in northwest Pakistan, where the government estimates that more than 100,000 people have already been displaced by the latest military offensive against militants in South Waziristan region and the number could rise even further, UN sources here said.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the military operations in the tribal areas of South Waziristan have intensified since Saturday and resulted in considerable new displacements of civilians.

The authorities report that there are now a total of 106,800 internally displaced persons (IDPs) registered in the districts of Dera Ismail Khan and Tank in North West Frontier Province (NWFP).

"The humanitarian community estimates that over 170,000 people may be displaced as a result of the new military operations,” said the OCHA, which could bring the total number of IDPs to up to 270,000."

Group behind deadly Iran bombing based in Pakistan: FM

TEHRAN (AFP) – Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki stepped up pressure on Islamabad on Tuesday, saying the group accused of launching a deadly suicide attack in the country is based in Pakistan.

Mottaki said members of the group regularly violate the Iran-Pakistan border and launch attacks inside the Islamic republic.

"They cross into Iran illegally. They are based in Pakistan," Mottaki said without naming the group, as he ramped up pressure on Iran's friendly neighbour.

A suicide bomber on Sunday blew himself up at a meeting between commanders of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards and local tribesmen in the town of Pisheen in Iran's restive Sistan-Baluchestan province, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Seven Guards commanders and dozens of other people were killed in the attack Iranian officials say was carried out by the shadowy Jundallah Sunni group which is waging a rebellion against the Shiite rule from Tehran.

Iranian officials have accused Britain, Pakistan and the United States of involvement in the attack.

US videogame sales break losing streak: NPD

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - – Industry-tracker NPD reported that US videogame sales showed a "modest increase" in September, breaking a six-month losing streak.

US sales of videogame software and hardware rose to 1.28 billion dollars last month as compared to 1.27 billion dollars in September of 2008, according to NPD.

It was the best September performance for US videogame sales since two years ago, when science-fiction battle title "Halo 3" was released and sold three million copies by the end of the month.

A freshly-released "Halo 3: ODST" title was the top selling game in September, with 1.52 million units bought during the month.

"On a unit sales basis, the industry was flat," said NPD analyst Anita Frazier.

"The increase in revenues is driven by a rise in average retail prices in all categories with the exception of console hardware, in which the average retail price decreased 8 percent from last September."

Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo have trimmed prices on their competing videogame consoles, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3), and Wii respectively.

PS3 sales rocketed in September fueled by a fresh price cut, according to NPD.

"Compared to last September, the PS3 was the big winner, more than doubling last year's sales," Frazier said.

"This is the first month that PS3 has captured the top spot in console hardware sales."

Xbox 360 and Wii sales each shot up more than 30 percent in September as compared to August, according to NPD.

Nintendo line of handheld DS videogame players remained the top selling gaming platform for a sixth consecutive month.

A Wii Motion Plus device to enhance the sensitivity of Wii motion-sensing controllers captured the top spot for accessory sales this month, while the console's remote control was the second best-selling item in terms of units.

A "The Beatles: Rock Band" videogame that lets players join the legendary British Rockers on a virtual journey through the group's career debuted in September and sold 254,000 copies by month's end, according to NPD.

"The Beatles: Rock Band" climbed onto the Top Five videogame sales chart for September, despite a "retail price premium of 130 percent to the average retail price for software overall," Frazier said.

"Rock Band" fans need plastic guitars and drum set controllers to play the games.

"The overwhelmingly positive reaction by music fans, hardcore gamers, critics, retailers, young and old alike, has been extremely gratifying," said MTV Games executive vice president Scott Guthrie.

"The game was a labor of love for the teams at Apple Corps, MTV Games and Harmonix, and seeing it resonate across generations the world over is truly priceless."

US sales of videogame hardware and software fell 16 percent in August, the sixth straight monthly decline, according to the NPD Group.

Sales would have to skyrocket in the remaining months of the year just to meet last year's numbers.

US videogame industry sales as of the end of September were 13 percent lower than at the same point last year, according to NPD.
